The iconic engine gnomes from Honda

Small, retro and absolutely cult: Honda's small motorcycles are legendary. Today, the Honda brand is primarily present as a manufacturer of cars and full-size motorcycles. But the best-selling light motorcycle also comes from Japan: the Honda Super Cub. More than 100 million pieces have been sold worldwide since its presentation in 1958. In "Little Honda" Gerfried Vogt-Möbs presents the mini motorcycles that shaped the lifestyle of the seventies:

- Complete model history of Honda light motorcycles: From Honda Super Cub to Honda Monkey and Honda Gorilla to Honda Dax
- many historical photos from the archives
- detailed technical data
- with contemporary tests and driving reports - pure motorcycle history!
- Gift idea for motorcyclists - cult factor guaranteed!

From fun bike to cult bike

More by chance, Honda invented a second family of mopeds. The Honda Monkey was actually intended as an attraction for children in an amusement park, but developed into a real hit on the market from 1961 onwards. Even though the driver had to be as agile as a monkey thanks to its tiny dimensions, nothing was cooler in the 1970s than a monkey or its bigger brother, the gorilla. From 1969 onwards, the Honda Dax was added, which scored points with its progressive design and, thanks to its folding handlebars, was also used as a "range extender" in many motorhomes.

While Far Eastern replicas of these cult bikes have been flooding the market for some time, things remained quiet at Honda for a long time. But in 2019 the completely new Monkey finally arrived and continues what its predecessors started.

"Little Honda" takes us on an exciting journey through time with lots of original pictures and interesting background information. And perhaps one or the other will sigh nostalgically when they see the legendary Bonsai bikes: "Do you remember back then..."
